thoughts:
There isn't much good that can be said about this mini-series; with the exception of Nick's performance therein.

He gave his character (Monty Veers) a depth that, I'm guessing (judging by the script's less-than-stellar quality), wasn't even written for him. In fact, I'd wager a guess that the script gave him no backstory at all.

The character seemed to have good intentions at the start, but was a bit naive and easily manipulated by someone he clearly cared for. I don't think anyone could have fleshed out this character quite the way Nick did.

It reminded me of what Steve Railsback did with Duane Barry on "The X-Files." The way the character was written, he was just... nuts. But Steve gave him an innocence and sadness that made you really feel for him.

I was very proud to be a Nicholas Lea fan as I watched this. At one point, I got teary-eyed and said aloud "I'm so proud of him." Granted, I'm a sap. ;)
