FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Creative Duo Proves Music Industry's Best Kept Secret - for Now!
New York, NY, October 2004 After domestic and international success writing hit songs for such pop superstars as Celine Dion, Jessica Simpson, Anastacia, and Kelly Clarkson, MZMERIQ Entertainment's Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello have scored yet another success with their latest Billboard #1, "I Believe," performed by Fantasia.

Over the past six years, MZMERIQ has amassed an impressive roster of hits and world-class performers, including Celine Dion ("I Surrender), Kelly Clarkson ("Anytime), Jessica Simpson ("I Wanna Love You Forever" as well as her duet with Nick Lachey "Where You Are"), Anastacia ("I'm Outta Love," "One Day In Your Life," "Made For Lovin' You," and "You'll Never Be Alone"), Kelly Clarkson ("Anytime"), Tamyra Gray ("Raindrops Will Fall"), 98 Degrees ("You Don't Know"), Marc Anthony ("There You Were") and Lara Fabian ("Till I Get Over You").

Louis Biancaniello is a name you'll find in a remarkable number of households. In fact, a conservative estimate is that more than 100 million CDs listing Louis in the credits have been sold worldwide. A veteran of Narada Michael Walden's smash factory, Tarpan Studios, Louis left his mark on #1 hits by Elton John ("True Love"), Whitney Houston ("I'm Every Woman," "All the Man That I Need"), Mariah Carey ("Love Takes Time," "I Don't Wanna Cry"), Tevin Campbell ("Tell Me What You Want Me to Do"), Shanice ("I Love Your Smile"), and Lisa Fischer ("How Can I Ease the Pain," "Save Me"). Other credits include his work with legends such as Barbara Streisand, Aretha Franklin, the O'Jays, Teddy Pendergrass, and Al Jarreau (the Grammy-winning "Heaven and Earth").

Thirty-four year old, producer/writer Sam Watters has been working in the music business for 15 years. He has written seven #1 hits, transcending boundaries and spanning multiple formats including Domestic Pop, R&B, and International. His songs have topped the charts in 19 countries.

Watters grew up in Oklahoma City, where he began singing with his best friends in high school. After graduation, they formed a group named Color Me Badd and moved to New York City in 1989 to pursue their dream of becoming a successful recording act. That dream was realized in 1991 when Color Me Badd's debut album C.M.B. sold over 6 million copies worldwide, sparking the #1 hits "I Wanna Sex You Up," "All 4 Love," and "I Adore Mi Amor" each hit having Sam as co-writer. [Patricia's note: Sam did not co-write "I Wanna Sex You Up," it was written for the film 'New Jack City' and then given to Color Me Badd to perform].

Sam and Louis met while Color Me Badd was working with Narada Michael Walden on their third album Now And Forever in 1996. They immediately hit if off and a few months later began to work with each other. Watters and Biancaniello initially had an exclusive deal with Tommy Mattola and Sony in 2001. They renamed their company MZMERIQ Entertainment in 2003.

Their first major success was Jessica Simpson, with "I Wanna Love You Forever" (#3 Billboard Hot 100, #1 in Soundscan Single Sales for 6 weeks) and "Where You Are," featuring Nick Lachey. This was followed by Anastacia's 5 million-selling debut CD, Not That Kind, on which they produced three tracks, including "I'm Outta Love" (selling 3 million singles and remaining #1 in Europe for almost 2 months) and Freak of Nature (5 million units sold), containing the smash "One Day in Your Life" (European #1 for twelve weeks).

They continued their winning streak with Lara Fabian, 98°, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Tamyra Gray and Fantasia's "I Believe," which debuted at #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and stayed at #1 on the Sales Chart for eleven weeks.

Watters and Biancaniello credit much of their success to their talent of bringing out the best in their artists as opposed to making artists conform to a specific production style. Says Watters: "One of our most rewarding experiences was working with Anastacia on her first two CDs (Not That Kind and Freak of Nature). To work with an artist at the beginning of their career, to shape a style and sound around them, especially someone so remarkably talented, is what it's all about."

Biancaniello agrees: "Some producers project their own style on the artists, having total creative control with little or no input from the singer. We've both worked with those kinds of producers and from the beginning made a conscious choice that we would never do that. For us there has to be a connection with the artist, that spark- - the only way to find that spark is to bring the artist in and let them know they are more than just a voice. To create that kind of trust sometimes takes a little patience, a little understanding. But when it all comes together, it's magic."
